Smoky SD Skies
I took this while out on a photo shoot. The smoke from the Canadian wildfires are what caused the smoky skies in Mobridge, among other places, for several days. Thoughts and prayers to the families affected by the wildfires. May this be a reminder to find beauty, even in the wake of a disaster.
A view from the top!
This was taken from atop Buck Hill at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park near Medora, ND. If you haven't been there, plan a trip today! You won't regret it! :)
This beauty roams free in the TRNP. He is quite the horse and he protects his band like no other. He is simply amazing!
Catching the last rays of sun
Earlier tonight my phone rang, it was my youngest sister, she told me that there was a beautiful sunset happening and that there was a beautiful haze hanging over the river. My husband and I were just heading out to the store to pick up a few things, I grabbed my camera and we took the "long way" to the store.

A Rebel and Gutsy
Here he is! GUTSY is BAAAAACK!!!! This is for all of you Gutsy fans out there. He is pictured here in the CAP Studio along with the camera that a part in making him famous, the Rebel t3i, my first real camera. Those of you who may not know the story, here goes... A "few" years ago, Gutsy was given to me by my nephew Andrew, he gave it to my dad and said that I should have it. I started out taking pictures of Gutsy with my cell phone and sent them to my sister to show Andrew. Well, before I knew it, he made an appearance on Capture Dakota. He went on several different adventures all over the world! He was FAMOUS! I chronicled his adventures through pictures and slide shows. Andrew LOVED it! People began to ask where Gutsy was going next. Well, he had been on a hiatus as of late and someone reminded me that he needed to come out of hiding and have more adventures!
Waking From a Dream
On November 14th, the steam over the Missouri River was unreal! I posted a picture of the Missouri River bridge from that same day on here earlier. This picture was taken on the south end of Mobridge, just north of the walking trail. Enjoy!

I am a 3rd grade math teacher at McLaughlin Elementary. I live in Mobridge, SD. I have a photography business I opened in September of 2012. It's called "Carissa Aberle Photography". I have a page for it on Facebook and I also have a SmugMug site! What an awesome site for a photography business!! :)
