Announcing Farm Forum 50

Farm Forum is turning 50 and to celebrate, we're publishing a hardcover book that celebrates farming in photos. Our upcoming Farm Forum 50 book will be a collaborative project by our readers and staff. Reader photos will be the main focus book, and you can participate by submitting or voting on photos at

Categories that will be highlighted in the book include Barns & Buildings, Farm Animals, Farm Kids, Life on the Farm, Historical Farming photos, and Weather. These challenges will be rolled out though the year, starting with the Barns & Buildings challenge that's running now! We're hoping that the end result is a a dynamic look at farming from across the Dakotas. The book's large format, high-quality printing and unique content make it a collector's item perfectly suited for your coffee table.

Some unique challenges: As a part of our effort to compile the best farming photography from across the Dakotas, we're running challenges specifically for the Farm Forum 50 book. We'll publish the people's choice and editors' choice winners from all Farm Forum 50 challenges. Visit the challenges page on Capture Dakota and jump into the currently running challenge!
